Tired of looking round rooms, wondering what I've got to do...

I don't watch a lot of TV. But my guilty secret is/was One Tree Hill, and last night it ended in the UK. It was formulaic, unrealistic, overly pretty, utterly predictable, and BLOODY BRILLIANT.

I cried when Clay proposed to Quinn with an Incredible Hulk ring. I cried when Logan called Quinn 'Mom'. I cried when Julian bought Brooke her childhood home. Oh, I cried quite a lot. And I really cried at this bit:

And oh, then at the end they used the U2 song One Tree Hill from The Joshua Tree (I've been waiting for them to use this bloody song for 9 seasons!), and so of course I cried again:

There. I said it. I'm a One Tree Hill Fan. And I am NOT ASHAMED!

Thanks, One Tree Hill. 9 seasons of pure escapism, I'll miss that.

Shut my eyes, feel the colour of you...

Two posts in one day… but no cardigans as promised, I ran out of care time and now I want to go sit in the bath. Anyway. As promised, pasta (look away if tiny multicoloured edible genitalia isn't your thing):

How brilliant? Was a holiday present from my best friend...

MrNightingale and G are both dubious about eating it. Think MrNightingale is worried he might like it (snigger) and G said "it's weird when your mum tries to give you penises for tea" which I suppose is true. But look at the colours!!!

Jess always buys me the best presents. Like a massive box of Pieminister pies for my fortieth. A Spongebob Squarepants russian doll...

…a painting of a pile of Campers…

…and the world's best candlestick™…

Whilst I'm on my shelves, this is one of my favourite things brought back from Mexico last year:

Yes, it's a nativity, in a cactus, with a sheep that looks like a monkey and a GIANT CHICKEN. It's bigger than Mary and Joseph! Giant chicken FTW!

I also bought these in Mexico, ciggies in the prettiest pack ever. Shame they taste like horseshit, they occupy emergency status only.

Yesterday I had a bit of a spring-clean of the both the bedroom and my understairs jewellery hideout, and managed to solve a problem:

Lil! She's my polystyrene head that I use for taking piccies of Mother's hats. She is now wearing my gorgeous Crown and Glory butterfly fascinator, the perfect way to keep it safe until I can get myself to another event worthy of its magnitude.

Funny how Lil has a name but my manni doesn't… I think it's the lack of a face. But to show I love her anyway I've moved her into the hall:

Which is fine until I forget she's there and scare myself stupid when I go to bed.

So that's it really. I'll save cardigans for another day. I did make another treasury though, look at me being all colourful!

Based on this beauty by the ever-gorge Kylie:

It's one of my favourite happysongs ever.
Mood must be improving!

Bye for now :)
Flo

Because your crystal ball ain't so crystal clear...

Wow, longish time no post. Going to do a quick catch-up-round-up of some jewellery-related happenings, then later on I might actually blog about something else. I have pasta and cardigans to talk about, so you better not go out in case you miss it.

First up, I finally decided what to do about my second selling avenue (I'm not counting my ASOS because I haven't been able to galvanise my model lately and it's all looking pretty dated, so that one might need to wait until Summer). So in addition to my Etsy, may I now present my bigcartel store! First of all I had the same banner and 'look' as my Etsy, but decided to streamline a bit and go a bit more modern - am not sure if it works, any input would be fab (I promise not to cry!) if you feel so inclined.

It's VERY easy to use and works out pretty cheaply I think, now all I need to do is get promoting, optimising and get some actual traffic going there.

I revisited my shrink plastic collars that I first made last year - I like them, and they're proving popular so far:

My (admittedly a bit odd) Harmonica Campfire necklace:

Blingtastic Princess Carriage necklace:

Diamond Jubilee necklaces:

Green Vial necklace:

Red Glitter Vial necklace:

I *love* the vial necklaces, I think they're fab. But I'm biased :)

Oh and I'm back with the Crafty Folk team on Etsy - this is such a great bunch of people and some amazing talent there. I love the weekly Featured Seller Treasury where members create treasuries based around an item from the randomly chosen featured seller. This week was the lovely Rachel from Mystic Spirit Shop, and I used all other Crafty Folk, um, folk, for the rest of the Treasury, based around a wedding-y theme:

So that's the jewellery-type catch-up. Any criticisms, ideas, general input? Please, bring it! I don't do a lot of asking for feedback, but that doesn't mean I don't need it, good AND bad.

PS I'm back on Twitter - find me at @flonightingale_ if you need more occasional ramblings in your feed.

Oh, and as is becoming customary, I'm going to leave you with music. First it has to be this beautiful tribute to Adam Yauch, who sadly died this week, and OK you may not like Coldplay, but I defy anybody to tell me this isn't heartfelt:

And then the man himself:

Only one of the best videos EVER.

RIP MCA. Beats, you had 'em.

When she said she'd be a movie queen, nobody laughed...

Another day, another CoC necklace gone from my Etsy shop. So I had to replace it with something...

PurpleVial

Back in my goth days I would have been all over this. But I would have wanted BLOOD in it, dammit. Or Andrew Eldritch's tears.

Hm, Andrew Eldritch. Something else I would have been all over in my goth days. Oh, go on then…

Oi! Come back with my apple!

Following on from this post yesterday I sold a charm on chain* necklace today - it was one of the little owls. Owls are still popular. But I haven't relisted it! So bye bye little owl…

Owl

And hello to this cheeky little bugger:

TheAppleThief

Probably not catering to exactly the same market, but… well. We'll see.

* hereafter known as a 'CoC'

Warning...

…may cause hot sweats and lightheadedness. Or that just might be the menopause.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you get ear candy + eye candy wrapped up in one tidy package. Mr Ian Watkins, you win today's yum award, and you make a fine fine noise. In most men I'd just want to hoik those jeans up a bit, but you feel free to leave yours exactly where they are...

One! Two! Three!

You're welcome.

Just bung it on, bird...

Okay, so it might not be clever.
But it IS big...

It's got spoons. A lollipop. Scissors. AND ONLY A BLOODY SIDEWAYS HORSE...

A stag! A bicycle! Teeth! A bow and arrow thing! Not one, not two, but three octopus guys...

A swallow! A starfish! TOO. MANY. JOKES *explode*

Bonus yet obligatory moody-looking, pouting teen, wearing floaty florals, in 'vintage-look' sepia with blurry edges. Blurry edges!! Oh iPhoto, you are my NBFF.

So yeah, in a nutshell, I'm going to be moving away from 'charms on chains'. Not liking the fallout, and the way it makes me feel when it gets pointed out how I may as well be a reseller. But I figured might as well go out with ALL THE CHARMS!

Big thanks to anyone who's bought charms on chains from me - I hope you like what I do next. Hm, I hope *I* like what I do next.
